A Season of Hearts

Yay to a new month of heart-dwellers and heartful folks who listen to that beautiful beat in their chest! I've loved February ever since I was a kid. Red everything. Bring it and I'm in, from lipstick to sweaters to Dorothy's magic slippers in the Wizard of Oz. And how synchronous the name 'Wizard" keeps popping up for all we do and all that we love. At least in our personal lives.
Whenever we take Wizard to the beach, it's guaranteed that we'll find a heart rock. It's not that we're searching for it, but one tends to land at our paws and feet during a low-tide romp session, of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Our heart rock collection continues to grow based on the tides, whichever beach we go to, and whether our awareness is in the right space.
That's key. Awareness. I read a passage recently by a woman in St. Augustine, Florida, who just so happens to be an old friend from the early 2000s. She sent it to me, as she does every new month. Some sentences and thoughts are longer than others, however, for February her message is "Acceptance is the key to peace." I suppose this can transcend into all aspects of life and modern-day culture.
It's almost as if the simpler the message, the better I understand and can process it within my being. No matter who you are or what you believe, there's no denying that an open and aligned heart can make all the difference in life.

Since Valentine's Day is around the corner (or here already, for some) we celebrate a season of hearts. It seems easy to forget how the heart rules emotions, actions, and passions. I'm a huge emoji fan, and sure as you're standing there, I will find a heart emoji for practically every comment and post on social media. And as an emoji junkie fan--as it were--I adore the visuals that these things bring to the words. It might originate from my creative father; sort of like a DNA thing.
My dad was a cartoon artist during his 'off-hours' as an international airline pilot. I've perused his work and have kept all of his cartoons from when he was flying with Braniff Airlines back in the day. I'd be a rich woman if we had an ounce of the illustrations he gave for the weekly Braniff newsletter or the visuals he created with another's memes. But you know what?
I am already wealthy in mind, spirit, and heart. I have the love of my life, Greg. We have the pawed love of our lives, Wizard. And I have beautiful friends who are tried and true to their core. It's all about the heart. Where does it go? What does it want? I used to ask myself that for decades; sure enough, my heart led me to where I am now. No going back, and never wanting to go back.
If your heart rules your life, how can you go wrong?
I want to end this 'story' on a note of gratitude. The appreciation for years of being with me and following my writings and musings knows no bounds. There's that age-old saying of "Thank you from the bottom of my heart", and I mean it! Following my heart's inclinations and prayerful manifestations has led to some wonderful things in my life.
From Wizard's heart to my heart to everybody I know's heart, we extend a sincere "thank you."
Heaps of love and heart(y) blessings from us,
Gerry Ellen and Wizard (and Greg) xoxoxo
